Wardrobe
Now that i have the stuff for my home studio and now that i have some great props, i turned to think about wardrobe. I have saved a ton of ‘sibling’ shot ideas with newborns and i loved the cute little outfits the kids were wearing. I looked through the girls cloths and Abby has some dresses but Anabel is getting to the point where she is going to need a lot of new cloths this summer because she is going into a new size and she just doesn’t have good picture taking dresses.
So i didn’t have any good fairly matching cloths for them and since each month i set aside some money for things for the girls, i decided to buy them each a cute outfit. It took me a long time searching and trying to find something matching (and pretty cheap). EBay was the way to go.
Found the adorable lace covered dress for Anabel for $13 and free shipping:
And this for Abby was $15.77 with free shipping:
Now i will want to get something to make a cute headband for them. I looked on eBay which had some adorable ones but i couldn’t get myself to pay $9-$15ea for a headband when i probably could make some without much trouble for WAY less then that!
I think these outfits will look great with the background and props i have and then Matthew can have a cream diaper cover (or i have a cream cloth newborn diaper for him) or just in a blanket or naked or whatever i decide.
Here are some of my saved inspirational pictures:
Aren’t these great? I hope i can get something cute like this!
Girls Room
Saturday, March 23, 2013Still need to make the curtains but i have no clue when that will get done!
Girls wanted a picture with their new house after we showed it to them:
Good shot of Hubs custom bi-fold doors. He says they are crappy but i say they are awesome!
Shingles finally all painted thanks to Hubs. I knew if he went in there to paint them he would get them all done in one day instead of me only getting a few painted each time!
Ugh and the shades…. girls have been destroying them!
The girls, right before they laid down for night night :) Very pleased!
Project: Light Flower Vines
So Hubs has made and painted the trellis and the roof for the cottage bunk beds. Now we just have to wait for the girls to wake up from their naps before we can install them.
Months ago i bought this fake flowers from the Dollar Tree to make some lit flower vines to go on the trellis. I bought three bundles of flowers, two red and one yellow.
Here they are with some of them taken apart off of the stems:
I saved the insides of the flowers:
Thinking that later when ever i make like crepe paper flowers i might be able to use these stems! I hate to waste things! I might be a hoard >_>
ANYWAYS we used all the petals and all the leaves on the bundles of flowers to make this:
Can’t wait for the girls to wake up and we can install the trellis and roof and i can get this lit flower vine up!
Also today i ordered:
The rods for the windows on the cottage bunk beds. There for a while i was afraid i wouldn’t find curtain rods small enough for the tiny windows (some as small as 9” and the big one 14”) but i found them! Now i need to make the tiny curtains :) I have some sheer pink material I'm thinking of using…. maybe pink with a yellow ruffle on top? Not sure if i will get that fancy with them or not.
So yay! We are sooooo close to being totally done with the bunk bed cottage!
Messing With The Studio
Friday, March 22, 2013Bobby got my backdrop holder put up today! It’s a nice sturdy metal bar:
So then i messed around with some fabric i had and got out the second faux wood flooring i hadn’t opened yet.
I think that is a good looking set up for some boy themed pictures :)
Tried out a few things… trying to imagine Matthew there
Then i decided to get really goofy and photoshop a baby in LOL
That is something i think i want to try with Matthew… we shall see :)
Bobby brought a box in for me to make some reflectors, hoping that will help with the light. Plus that i have only been playing around with it at night and i am really counting on mostly natural light during the day.
