23 wks along

I'm 23 wks and so happy about it too! Wednesday the 19th we got an ultrasound done and got to see how much our baby had grown since 14wks. For only one split second we got a good shot of the baby's face. He was pushing his face up towards the hand that was above his face and opened his little mouth. It was the most beautiful thing i had seen. Bob asked the man doing the ultrasound that if he saw the sex of the baby, not to tell us but put it in an envelope so we could read it later if we decided. I watched the screen closely and i think we are having a little girl (but we haven't opened the envelope yet).
I asked bob when he might let me open it, and he said maybe Christmas day. So everyone should expect a call from me, letting them know what I'm having, on Christmas.
The baby kicks like crazy now, on both sides of my belly. Sometimes he makes life a little uncomfortable, like at night! It's been 3 days now that I've hardly gotten any sleep because something to do with the baby. My left side belly muscles hurt really bad through most of the night and in the morning it usually stops completely by the time i get out of bed. Last night i dreamt that the baby was kicking me over and over on my left side (right where the muscles were hurting) and when i woke up after that dream in the middle of the night.... guess what.... he was kicking me over and over and over and i wondered how long that had been going on... and new that was why i was dreaming about it. I'm wondering if that's why my left side hurts through out the night, if he is really active at night and uses my left side as a punching bag. But i wonder if that could really make my muscles hurt? I mean can kicks really effect through the womb and into my muscles? I don't know... probably something i will look up or ask the midwife about.
