Valentine's Day - First Part of the Day

Today is Valentine's Day. It's cold but the snow seems to be melting.

I decided instead of spending money on cards, which can get pretty expensive, i decided i would make some for Bobby. I made a card for the girls and cut out hearts for the to glue on. They loved it! I explained valentines day to Anabel and told her that we were doing this to show Daddy how much we love him. She seemed to get really excited at that thought.

I let Anabel decorate one heart and Abby got to do one too. Abby loved to color it and it was so cute to watch how she did it... just how she held it and used the marker, i don't know... she might have some talent there. Hehe

Abby's heart is the one on top.

Anabel took the left over paper from making the card and wrapped her toy toast in it. She came to me all excited saying that it was a present for Daddy :) So it's on the table waiting for him LOL

Then i decided to make Bobby a card from me. Just something simple :) And i grabbed him some chocolate.

Bobby is going to pick up a movie on his way home. We got a FREE Valentine's Day code from Red Box. Looking forward to it :)

Potty Training

So today has been another training day. More success today that is for sure! We went with the bare butt, potty chair in the living room method. So far no diapers and no mess! I had to turn the heat up in the house so her bare butt and legs wouldn't be freezing. About 6 pee's in the potty so far! Anabel love the potty chair so much that she has hardly left it all day.
When she does go she comes to me all excited and tells me. I have her show me and she said 'Look mommy! I made you so proud!' Hehehe yes i am very proud. She is so cute!
Then after going we take it into the bathroom to dump it and flush it. Then we wash our hands and put all her stars on the board. After all that she gets a reward like M&M's or candy corn, which ever she chooses and we call Grandma and Grandpa every other time. She is so excited about it. She has thrill sippy cups full of yummy stuff for her to choose from to drink so she is always drinking :)

So far so good! YAY!

Diet

Since we started this 1 cup diet thing our food has gone a lot farther. I'm liking it. One cup at a meal satisfies us and holds us until out snack time. Plus i love how food lasts! Made hamburger helper the other night and crescent rolls. Normally we would have ate ALLL of it including all 6 rolls. Well now the hamburger helper lasts two meals and the rolls 3 meals. LOL So that is about $.88 a meal! Sweet! Not to mention 1 pound of hamburger turned into small hamburger patties lasted us like 4-5 meals LOL

Sure helps on saving money! Plus i think i have more energy doing it this way.

Less food, more meals :)

Child Proofing?

My girls have gotten to the age that child seems to so not be working!

Anabel learned how to open the bathroom door. I was always finding her in there getting into my make up and hair pieces. So in hopes of stopping that, we took the handle plate off the outside so you had to reach in and activate the lock switch, and we would have it locked at all times. Well now she has learned how the lock switch works! So i don't know what to do with that now.

Then we have a baby gate up on the one office entrance that does not have a door. Wellllll she learned how to unhook that gate and get it.... she likes to go in there when i am busy in the kitchen. Funny thing is i don't realize it right off because she will put the baby gate back up. I know she has done it because it's not in there tight and it's lopsided. LOL She smart girl!

Ok now Abby.... she is getting really good at climbing. Climbing on the chairs at the table... plus she will take things from the playroom like the baskets used to organize their toys, flip them over and stand on them to get up high enough to grab things off of the table (Anabel showed her how to do it and it stuck!)

I don't know what to do with my girls! Haaaaa!

Potty Training

We have been working on potty training with Anabel. Today we had 4 successful pee-pees on the potty! I'm so proud of her! She loves putting stars on her potty training chart and getting m&m's, or 'lema-lems' as she calls them, for going potty. I had told her that if she went on the potty a few times that i would buy her Dora and Princess panties so that is what i did today :) She squealed and squealed when she saw them. Now if only she will keep going! So exciting!

After her nap Anabel didn't seem to be in a very good mood. She was on the potty chair i decided to try and make her a little more happy by putting make up on her for the first time ever. She was so good for me too! I couldn't get a smile out of her for anything after i put the lip gloss on her, even after i told it was ok to move her mouth. LOL Anyways i got a little picture happy... think i took 79 pictures LOL Yeah.... i'm crazy. Here are a few of them :)

1 Cup Diet

So Bob decided me and him should start a new diet. We started yesterday. I don't know if this is an actual 'diet' diet or just something Bob came up with but it is 6 meals of only a 1 cup of food each. Smaller portion, more meals.

We are not sure how to do some of the dishes like rice... since you cook it and it puffs up. Last night i made fried chicken and rice (one of my favorite meals) and i cooked 1 C of rice thinking, half for each person of us and then 1/2 C chicken. But after cooking the rice there was a lot more there then 1 C.... so i just measured out the cooked rice.

Or what about Waffles? In my waffle machine i have always done 1/4 C batter per waffle... so i was thinking 1 C would equal 4 waffles, but then again they puff up? So i'm not sure what to do with that LOL

Other then those problem foods, it's surprising how much food is 1 C. It's more of a stretch for Bob but for me it's just cutting back a little bit.

Like last night for my last meal/snack of the day (after we had dinner) i was happy to find out my chocolate candy bars in there was only 1.45oz LOL My thing lately is to sit down with my computer after the kids have went to sleep and do my blogs or games... or read my book. I love to snack on sunflower seeds. So i sat down with 1 C of sunflower seeds and a candy bar.... since with sunflower seeds with the shells on them you really only are eating about 1/2 of the amount. Anyways... i didn't even finish half of it LOL

So it's going really good so far, as long as i remember to eat my in between meals which might be hard for me.

Trying to do what mommy does

So i was sitting in the livingroom and thought Anabel was in the playroom watching Veggie Tales. When i noticed i hadn't heard her in a while (which is odd) so i went to check on her. I found her quietly trying to close the bathroom door behind her and when she turned around this is what i found:

I had to take a picture and i was trying really hard not to laugh. It took quite awhile to clean up and she got a talking to. She was just trying to do what she has seen mom do. Cutie pie!

Anabel did it finally!

Finally this evening Anabel went on the potty! It was so excited and happy for her... my eyes might have gotten moistened hehehe :) She got to put 6 stars on the potty chart... 1 for sitting on the potty, 1 for going potting, 1 for wiping, 1 for pulling up her pants, 1 for flushing the toilet and 1 for washing her hands. She was so excited to put that many on the board. Then she got some M&M's and she got to call Grandma and Grandpa to tell them what she did. We made it a HUGE deal and it made her even more excited to get on the potty after that. We didn't have any more success tonight, we would run her to toilet but before she got on she would go in her pull-ups. It's ok, i'm just excited we got one success after trying so much and we will continue to work on it :)

But i wanted to get that down in the family diary here so i will have it saved and can look back and know the date :)

Tissue Galore!

Tis the season... for runny noses and tissue! OMGoodness! Thank goodness i have a fairly good stockpile of tissue boxes because i am using them like crazy! I swear i am wiping noses every 30 seconds >_< Piles and piles of nasty tissue...

At least Anabel is awesome with getting her nose wiped. She will come to me and tell me when she needs her nose cleaned. And Abby is getting better, actually today she has been following Anabel's lead and coming to me and pointing to her nose and trying to say 'tissue'. So cute! She still kinda fights you when you wipe her nose but she always says 'Thank you' after you do it :)

Last night Bob got the bars up in our new closets. The way he installed them makes it feel like the closet has even more space.

The closets are nothing special, old paint that does not look good by any means but i am excited about them. They do seem to have way more space then our old closets, maybe because they are actual 'walk in closets' which gives the feeling of being larger? What i love is that they have doors on them which will help the room feel more orderly.

As me and Bob were talking about future reno plans we realized our master bedroom plans (which would be to gut the whole upstairs to make it our big master bedroom and bath with a small nursery connected) would be years down the road (Bob said more like 10yrs) just because we decided that before the master bedroom is started we will have had to of redone the basement to give more bedrooms for the kids. Sooo since that would be the case and we will have to live with the upstairs the way it is, that gave me permission to eventually paint the rooms up there.

Since all of this cost money and any reno cost tons of money we will have to wait on it. Even painting adds up quickly. So for now we will move up stairs with no new paint and living with the old. We have been in a room for almost 2 years now that had no paint so it's nice to be in a room with paint, even if it's ugly old paint. LOL

I'm so grateful for what i have. I feel so blessed.... sure most of the rooms paint is not nice and we live with painted sub-floors that don't look good but this house has awesome potential!

This is only the second year in this home and we have a new awesome porch with awesome porch furniture, we have a new privacy fence (no grass yet though) in our back yard with an arch entry way, shelves installed in my pantry, and our newest adventure is the redone main floor bathroom. I mean come on! Who wouldn't feel blessed? I know the rest will come eventually and that will be awesome.... but for now i am happy with what i have!

So today i will be spending time bringing stuff from our bedroom upstairs and getting stuff organized.

We don't have the disposable money to buy the paint for the soon to be play room but i'm hoping we will soon. If not they can play in there with out it. LOL

I just want to get all this clutter from rearranging put away so i can get Christmas decorations put up!

Lots Of Rearranging

So like i have said before... maybe not in the blog but one of my other ones, but we are moving the girls in together in one room and me and Bob are moving up stairs as well. So our up stairs will be: Guest room, Girls Room, and our bedroom.

What use to be our bedroom on the main level will then be turned into the play room.
As usual i have all kinds of ideas for the room!

What use to be my closet is perfect to fit the changing table in and the shelves in there are great for extra diapers and things that i don't want the girls into by themselves like the art stuff. I plan on closing it off with a baby gate. I primed the closet yesterday (lots of drama with that), I think i got myself literally high with fume.... so not fun! Also i painted the trim in the closet white which makes the old trim look so much better imo.

In what use to be Bob's closet i was thinking of hanging a curtain there and it become like a stage. It would be to fun if Bob could build a platform for the stage!

Our Nativity Float

Our Church decided to do a float in the Parade of Lights local Christmas parade this year.
A lot of people put a lot of hard work into getting everything put together! And the result turned out looking nice lit up in the dark.

It was sooooo cold out! I made sure we all had tons of layers on under our costumes. I was pretty warm but my hard were dead LOL. Abby did great all wrapped and bundled up, she basically didn't complain. I'm so proud of her!

Chit chat and thoughts

Last night Bob and i were talking before we fell asleep. He was talking about all the extra work he signed up for at school and i was expressing my dislike for that LOL I know he works hard and does everything he can to provide and he does a great job of it. I just wish things didn't have to be so and wish he could spend more time at home.

Part of the conversation:

"Isn't it so weird that we married each other" I said "I mean what made you pick a geek? It would seem that you being a jock and all you would have went for a cheerleader or something" Which was the type of girls he had dated before me. "And i always thought i was going to marry a geek!"
I said those chicks must have been to social for him since he is more of a recluse.
He said "Yeah i don't know why more people aren't that way. I like my bubble, like I am the guy on King of Queens... willing to lift up my shirt and show them my chest hair to scare them off.... i like our bubble just the way it is."
You would have had to of seen that episode of King of Queens to know just what he is saying. We got quite a laugh out of that!
I told him i thought it was because really he was a geek underneath and that when he met me he was all "Man i wish i could as cool as she is" Hehehe

The conclusion is that opposites attract... even if that can cause some friction, but you can always work through it.

While he might adore sports and i couldn't care less about them you learn that there is a lot things you do have in common.

We both enjoy:

Art (i envy what he gets to do at work. I wish i knew how to do pottery or have the time to practice my Photoshop skills like he does.)
Sewing (yes he sews)
Woodworking
Video games (me more so though)
Cooking
Decorating the house

He has even sat and spent hours with me making jewelry. Or got up and danced for hours with me and his family on the Wii.

Yes he is a rough and tough manly man and he proves that you can be a real man and do all these other things as well :)

A visit and the puke :(

My mom came down this weekend. I feel bad for her though cause i wasn't feeling as chipper and outgoing as usual and then poor Anabel got sick and started throwing up all over the place....
But i did love getting to see her. It was nice. She helped me a ton!

Yeah so poor Anabel... don't know what's up with her. She didn't/doesn't really seem to have a fever and she was acting fine and then all of a sudden she threw up. After that it seemed anything we gave her came back up, even water. She threw up in her bed so she got a bath and clean cloths. Bob put her bedding int he wash and she stayed in my arms after that for awhile. She kept asking for water and 15min after drinking she would puke it back up. So i started only letting her get tiny sips. She threw up on me several times... there for awhile it felt like i was changing her cloths and mine every few minutes. After the first time of her throwing up on me i decided to be smart and cover the couch with towels LOL that saved my couch but not me!

I ended up laying her down for bed on the couch with it covered in towels in case she would throw up again. I got set up in the recliner so i would be right next to her. Me and Bob sat up with her until she passed out.
Night was rough sleeping. She woke up a lot asking for water and i would give her little sips.

In the morning she seemed soooooo much better! No throwing up so far! She has eaten but only lightly today. This afternoon she said her stomach hurt so i was worried there was going to be more puking but none so far.

I felt so terrible for her!
Needless to say me and her and i'm sure my mom and Bob were very tired today. She is down for a nap now and has been sleeping a long time. I'm glad cause i think she needs it.

We missed church which sucked and i always feel terrible missing cause i do the coffee in the mornings.... but i felt i had to miss. There was no way that i was going to bring her to church after we had a day like that!

Bob watched the girls for a while while me and my mom went out to the store to pick up a few things. That was nice and i got some good couponing deals.

But now i feel like passing out.... if only i could!

Recently i started a spreadsheet to calculate how much i have spent on my stockpile and how much i would have spent on it if i would have paid regular price.

Yesterday Bob started building me shelves in my pantry! SOOOOO exciting! I love them! I am able to organize my stuff and it’s so much nicer! I can’t wait for him to finish it! Then i can take pics and show is off :D

Yesterday i got inspired to make Anabel a costume. We are planning to meet up with my sister and family and have some costume fun!

I didn’t have a pattern for any of this, just kinda threw it together and hoped it worked out!

I made the skirt, undershirt and corset. I still need to add a little lace white ruffle to peek out from the gathered area on the skirt, i think it will really finish it nicely!….also still contemplating whether i should make a chucky belt for her like you see in most pirate pictures… bob doesn’t think it needs it but i am wondering.

This picture is bad quality, had to take it with Bob’s iPad since my camera is still at my sister…. i think it looks way better in person. Besides the hat which i bought about a month back when i saw it on clearance for $3, this cost me $0 cause i just used scraps. :)

I also recently have been working on scrapbooking again. The picture above is a page i redid… i had kept a journal of right before Bob asked me out on our first date. I thought it was perfect to put in a scrapbook, good memories :D This scrapbook is just of us… like i have some pictures of us young, it will start there… go through the first date, him proposing, our first valentines day, pre wedding, wedding and end with the honeymoon. That’ll be the whole book.

Then this next picture is a page i just did…. mixing my sewing abilities with my scrapbook abilities. The frame around the picture is all fabric which is sewn to the paper and the ribbon is sewn on as well. I love sewing on my scrap pages! This book will be all about the girls…. when i got pregnant, belly pics, birth pics…. probably up to year one? That is what i am thinking :D

Also i have been drawing again! It feels great! I haven’t done it in so long and it’s always been something i loved to do, even though i’m not very good. This is the first thing i drew in years. It’s not finished… thinking of digitally painting it when Bob gets around to scanning it for me :D

On a couponing side note:

I have had a good week of coupon! I was able to get 30 Gatorades for free…. an ad match and coupon, it was pretty much amazing! LOL

And lots of other good stuff but that was the main highlight Hehehe

Ever have one of those dreams that you knew you were dreaming?

So i had another interesting dream. Once again i will add in a few details that might not have been in the dream just to make it more story form. In this dream i don’t appear to be anyone, but rather watching the story. Sometimes it felt like in the dream i was looking out the eyes of the Ambassadors male servant.

On a distant planet there was two races at war. The descendants of Alagar which adhere to the old ways and the creatures of the sky. The people of the sky had rested on this planet a few years ago and quickly decided to make it their home planet which meant to eradicate all other ruler ship.

This story begins here:

The alien motioned for the Ambassador and his servants to step aboard the hover craft. The arrangements had been made for a meeting between the Ambassador and the leader of the sky people to discus possible arrangements to end the fighting.

As soon as their feet settled on the hover craft it surged forward down a series of tunnels. They were going deep underground. The tunnels had many sets of deadly force fields which the alien at the front of the ship would call out in his own language and disable, many times at the last second.

They walked into the chamber and was told to wait. The Ambassador walked over to what looked like a window. It was a hologram of the outdoors for in fact they were many stories below the earth.

Soon the chamber was filled with people of the sky along with many armed soldiers and they quickly realized this was not a peaceful meeting. A native man stepped out from the crowd of aliens and motioned for the Ambassadors servant to step forward. He asked him to lay down on the table. ‘Tell me if it begins to hurt’ He started pushing on his stomach. The servant saw an odd figure creeping on the wall out of the corner of his eye. A figure dressed in black smiled at him and motioned for him to stay quiet. Suddenly a sharp pain surged through his abdomen from the man pushing on him. Several things happened at this time, he looked down at his stomach to see a purple web like discoloration appear on his left side as the figure on the wall jumped down, knocking down several aliens. The figure was a woman with long dark hair. She grabbed the servants arm and yelled for him to come. Pain ripped his body but he tried hard to run along side her.

The mob of soldiers were only a few paces behind them. Before the enemy could unload their guns on them the woman forced him to jump threw of door. As the door carved in suddenly they were jumping off the side of a waterfall into the river below.

(this was the moment i realized i was in a dream, i was looking threw the eyes of the man falling off the side of the waterfall and all of a sudden his voice screaming was that of a girls and i was like ‘wait this is a guy not a girl, i better get this dream right’ and changed it into a mans voice lol… pretty weird i know)

The woman helped the man onto the bank. All sorts of thoughts were running threw the mans head. He could easily tell where ever they were, it was no longer is home for there was nothing about it that looked like his planet.

(oh and the woman happens to look just like Angelina Jolie)

‘I know you have man questions’ the man was laid over on the bank, trying to catch his breath. The pain from his side had left him but the panic and confusion of what was happening was hard to bare.

She pulled out a piece of paper and unfolded it. ‘In this world this is our history’ On the paper was an article of two thieves. The pictures above it was of both of them. ‘You came from a parallel universe, the one you know as your home. On every planet whether you were born there or entered like we did threw secret doors you always have a past. This document changes according to what past we have.

‘So did i really steal something?’ the man asked

‘You might as well believe that you have because everyone else believes it’ she stood up and reached for his hand ‘Come with me, we must go into hiding’

They walked along the busy streets of the city. There was vender booths everywhere, selling anything you could imagine. Everything was so different then what he had ever seen. The woman smacked his shoulder ‘Don’t gawk at everything or they might pay more attention to you, come’…..‘Everything is arranged, we need to go find out room’

‘Arranged? Bu-’ the man stuttered

‘My name is Elliot by the way, just call me Eli’

‘I’m known as Eshland’

‘Well that is no good, we will have to change that. We are here’ She stopped in front of a building and looked up to the top. It was many stories high. ‘There is many things i have to tell you about me and you, come’ She said motioning for him to go first.

This is were i was woken up by Anabel calling down for me to get her up Lol

But i had a sense that the purple discoloration and pain in his stomach would have played out in the story. Almost like it had been explained but the guy was to distracted by the woman on the wall to really pay attention. What had or was going to be explained was that that there was an alien already inside him because that was how what the Aliens were planning on to take over the planet to the fullest.

Since he was now in a different universe maybe this alien would come out and it would be the start of another war? Or maybe this Eli since she seemed very smart and informed already knew about the alien inside him and would take care of it?

Hmmm if only i didn’t wake up! I want to know what was going to happen! Grrr lol

Happy Birthday

Anabel love her birthday and ever since then she has wanted everyday a birthday. She argued with me about Abby’s birthday saying ‘No mommy it’s Anabel’s birthday’ She couldn’t understand.

About everyday she says something about birthdays. It’s either her telling me first thing in the morning that it’s her birthday, or it’s giving ‘birthday hugs’ or it’s singing ‘ Happy Birthday’.

This morning when i went up to get her she said it was her birthday, ‘open presents and birthday cake mommy’ lol

And then somewhere she found a birthday card just a few minutes ago and was walking around looking at it, came to me and said ‘see mommy Anabel’s birthday!’ and then went to Abby and did the same thing :)

Another Dream

I had a very pleasant dream last night. It was so beautiful with the vivid color of the sunset and the copper of the freshly cut fields. Much different then most of my dreams i will say. :)

Now this will be the basics of the dream but i will add some details to make it more of a story form.

Setting:

A country festival held in the back field of farm. I am about 16-17 I am suppose to know Bob (my hubby)… i guess in the dream we went to the same school or something.

The Summer Festival was held in the back field of one that locals farm. There was a section of land with lush grass that had been mowed and it had plenty of trees for shade and a tire swing. There amongst the trees they had set up tables with white table cloths that held an assortment of food and drinks. Hanging lanterns with candles in them were dangling from the branches giving a wonderful glow to the area. Blankets were laid about for lounging.

It seemed as though the whole town had gathered there to enjoy the festivities. Laughter and small talk along with music from someone playing the guitar filled the air.

A big screen projector had been set up in one of the trees. As a school project all the high school seniors had broke up into groups and made videos over the year to be played here at Summer Festival. After that the judges watched the video’s they would decide the winner.

I was gathered with my group of friends, Bob was with his fellow football players whom didn’t befriend people like me and the people i hang out with, they were sitting behind us. Everyone sat and watched the videos.

In my part of our video me and friend were joking around. He was a pretty big guy and playfully poking fun at me. I was in jeans and a red t-shirt my hair was long. “You better watch what you say to me mister!” again my friend threw another joke. I ran and bent down wrapping him up as hard as i could (a football move), since i chopped him at the knees he fell over me onto the ground, all my friends were laughing. “Don’t under estimate the small chick” I said laughing.

Everyone clapped after the video was played and some of my guy friends bumped elbows with me “Dude, i didn’t know you put that in the video… man” I said all embarrassed. Another friend said “No matter how good our video was we will never beat the football team” everyone murmured their agreement. I turned back and gave Bob an ornery grin with a shake of my head. We hid it from everyone but we kinda had a thing for each other, at least Bob liked to secretly give me looks and we did this back and forth. The sun started going down when they announced that in fact the football team had won “Oh well, we know we had the better film anyways” We said as I watched the football team congratulating themselves.As it began to get dark people started walking towards the fields, holding lanterns. Lights flickered across the plain. I followed with one of my girl friends. I was in a pretty dress and boots…. i looked quite like a flower child, which is funny because it is so something i would have worn.

A song broke out and soon most everyone was singing as they walked and watched the sun set.

Bob gestured towards me as i was walking. I slowed and he came to walk next to me. We were silent for a long time and the crowd of people slowly got further away. Finally Bob said “This is our farewell party from high school”

“Yes and a hello into adulthood. Oh how i will miss it!” I said, causing Bob to stop walking.

I stopped and looked at him “Yeah but maybe adulthood won’t be so bad?” he said giving me a warm smile and putting out his hand for me to take.

And we walk away into the sun set.

Might be cheesy but at least it was a pleasant dream! Not a scary one like i usually have LOL And it had my hubby in it, which makes it all the better!

How To Ad Match

Ok I've had people ask how ‘ad matching’ works. This is something i have always done since i learned how to do it (from being a cashier at Wal-mart)

Wal-mart will ad match any ad that you have from a store with in 30-45miles of your area.

Where i use to live the ads come in the newspaper on Thursday. Because i lived in a small town i would pick up the paper that was from the nearest large city in my area, because it would have more ads in it.

Now i live in El Dorado Ks and even though i am close to Wichita they don’t seem to have any other ad but Dillon's in my newspaper and lucky that ad comes to my door step in the free newspaper. So much cheaper and easier then going to by a paper every Thursday.

How to ad match:

Not every store has the same brands. If the store has the same brand advertised in the ad, then you have to get that brand. If they do not have that brand you have to then revert to getting the Wal-mart brand.
So like the Dillon’s store brand is Kroger… for Wal-mart it is Great Value
Also read your ad carefully. You have to make sure the item you are getting matches the ad in size, lb – oz – ct ect. But you do not have to get the same quantity. Say the ad says 4/$1…. you do not have to get ‘4’ you can get what ever amount you want. Although if the ad said ‘limit 5’ or something on that order some cashier will make you abide by that.
When the ad said something like 2/$5… i find it more helpful if you just tell the cashier the item is $2.50 each or 10 for $10 items tell them $1 each and so on.
Make sure to keep all your ads with you when you go shopping because some cashiers ask to see the ad especially if it’s a savings over $1
You have to tell the cashier before she rings the product up that you have an ad match on that item.
Tell her the price and be prepared to show her the ad. I find it helpful to circle the ad matches in the ad that i want and then to also write the ad match on your grocery list so it’s easy to see and tell the cashier instead of searching through your ad for every items price.

I have saved so much money doing this alone, let alone if you couple it with coupons.

Today has gone by pretty good. Sept a mishaps. Like Anabel, getting into my permanent markers and coloring all over herself and my chair……yeah…. that didn’t go so well.

She got a spanking, a long explanation as why she was in trouble and what she did wrong. Then she went into time out… while i went and tried to clean up her mess….. and then i had to scrub her down.

I got a lot of kitchen stuff done. Some rearranging and cleaning.

Then this evening our neighbor sent their kids over with some things for the girls. A car for Anabel and a push/ride motorcycle for Abby. Some good outdoor toys. YAY! Thanks to them! I think they will love them!

Also looks like we have new neighbors moving in next door and the corner house is being auctioned off tonight as well. Kinda bummed about having a neighbor, i was liking having no one next to us…. but the upside is that our neighborhood seems to be growing. Right across the street from us, that house was bought and they just moved in. I’m sure that’s good for resale… i mean better to have a people living in your neighborhood then having a lot of empty houses right?

But before she marked all over herself, i got a cute video of Anabel singing and dancing.

Learning From TV

Bob noticed on Sunday night at Life Group when she was coming upstairs from the basement she was saying ‘sube’ with every step. Something she learned from Dora, ‘sube’ meaning ‘up’. Usually she says ‘step, step’ with each step but she has been pulling out the Spanish lingo lately. She does learn a lot from TV. It’s been helpful with counting and colors, plus I go a long with cartoon and trying to get it stuck in her head. We always say the words with her or sing the songs, i think it helps her get it.

We have been practicing colors and numbers with her without the TV to of course, using toys and such. She’s slowing starting to recognize more colors.

Anabel woke me up about 2am last night crying. I went up to her and she was burning up. Poor girl. I went and got the fan because it was kind a hot upstairs too. I laid with her for a while and calmed her down. I wasn’t sure if it wasn’t just a combination of the room being hot, plus she gets hot when she sleeps like me.

This morning she is still hot though and doesn’t want to move. She has just been laying watching cartoons and hasn’t even attempted to get up, so not her usual. Poor girl!

She just fell asleep :(

Clipped the binky

Yesterday we got tired of Anabel fussing over the binky she knew was only for sleep time. I went and clipped the top of one and showed it to her. She goes ‘OH NO! BINKY BROKEN!!!’

Then i asked her if she wanted to throw it in the trash? And she agreed and started running towards the kitchen and threw it in the trash herself. Without her looking i grabbed it out just incase she forgot later and we could show her it was still broken.

Last night she asked for it at bed time and we showed her the clipped binky. She said ‘oh no!’. We let her hold it for the night.

At nap time today she asked again and i showed her again. She was fussy about it but i left and she stopped and went to sleep.

I’m so glad i went ahead and did it. I’m sure we will still have some battles. Like Bob reminded me after i did it that that means no more binky for car rides or shopping trips… which i usually had ended up giving it to her in those situations because i didn’t want crying. Those are the situations i know if boring and in no way fun and she gets cranky…. but she won’t have it anymore. I wonder how those things will go now >_< we will see. She will learn, even if it’s hard at first.

Something extra I got was these Gerber cloth training diapers. So i can start Anabel potty training for way cheaper! My sister in-law said they worked great so yay!

So i think i am all set. Only thing is i may need some more cloth inserts. But i already found only the material they use to make the cloth inserts, so i can buy my own material and make my own!

Yesterday Bob finished the hand rails going down the front steps and he also put the top railing around the whole porch.

Yesterday i managed to plant my plants. Sutherlands had all their plants 50% off. So i got 3 tomato plants making sure that each plant already had a tomato bud on it. I planted those in my topsy-turvy. I also got 2 basil plants and 2 sage plants and got those in some pots. I bought some red onion bulb planters and got those planted in a big pot. I also bought a couple seed started kits and seed packets. All the seeds said i could start them in June so lets hope it grows! So i planted chives, parsley, thyme, rosemary, and cilantro. This is my first time trying to grow all this stuff. I had a topsy-turvy before one year and i got a couple grape tomato’s off of it but i was always forgetting to water it >_< I’m really hoping this time my plants will grow better!

We have been spending a lot of time in the pool. It’s been so nice! Although the second time Anabel was in the pool she got stung by a wasp. After that i made some homemade wasp traps and i’m hoping that will solve our problem!

Today Bob worked on making the trim for the front porch. He also tried to burn our tree stump a little more and took down our side fence in the backyard.

Went ahead and we decided to make the big decision to buy a complete set of cloth gDiapers. That’s newborn, small, medium, and large diapers with the cloth inserts. Cost a crap load of money but if you break it down it we spend a crap load in diapers each month and hopefully this will wipe that out…. in the end saving us a bunch of money. In that order i also bought some cloth potty training underwear so i should have all my bases covered. I mean think about it, yes Anabel is about to be potty trained and Abby still has at least a year left in diapers. Plus we plan to have a couple more kids. So hopefully this will be a HUGE money saver!

There is no turning back though, I'm stuck with these diapers forever now! I better like it LOL

Also today i got my printer to work. So i went ahead and printed some cupcake toppers. They are looking good.

Plus i finally got some laundry detergent made tonight. I’ve been needing that done and just not getting it made, so I'm so glad i finally did! Now tons of laundry tomorrow!

Bob took out the metal posts. Here is him grinding the left over metal down to the cement. Later he will fill the holes with some more concrete.

This was about 9:30pm. Bob worked his butt off and it sure showed! I’m so proud of how hard he works. There is still plenty of stuff to do. Then also we are going to put railing down the steps. Keep checking back, i will show all of that when it gets done!

I really thing Abby has been trying to talk.

The other day at the Pastor’s house she saw their dog and i said ‘Say hi doggy!’ And i really think she was trying hard to say it. She said something that sounded similar several times.

Yesterday both of the girls woke up in the morning about the same time. When me and Anabel came in to get Abby out of her crib i swear she said ‘Hi Sissy!’

And last night while we were eating i got distracted while feeding Abby. Bob swore Abby said ‘Food’ to get my attention and to give her another bite.

She does do the same ‘whale’ sound that Anabel does. It’s so cute.

I bet when she does start talking she will take off fast!

While outside in the grass at Pastor’s house like Sunday i helped Abby stand up and she stayed standing for awhile, even took one tinny tinny step. Man, i wonder if she will be walking by her first birthday like Anabel was?

She is such a ball of fun and such a cuddler! But then again both of my girls are.

The other day she was using the little airplane walker and walking all around the kitchen while i was doing dishes. She is just getting so big!

Gotta Retry

Abby has graduated to the baby food that has chunks in it. LOL

I had tried giving her this type of food a few weeks ago and she wouldn’t have it, she would just spit it back out. Then when we went and hung out at the pastor’s house for dinner i forgot to bring her baby food. She ended up eating mac and cheese and some fruit off of my plate. She loved it! She after that i tried giving her the chunky baby food, she has been loving it.

Hopefully this means she won’t be as picky as Anabel is. She is eating the pasta and meat baby foods now and Anabel did like those. But that also is probably me just not knowing. See when she first tried it she hated it and i never tried giving it to her again. It wasn’t until a few months ago when i saw my sister said that babies taste buds change as they get older and that you should try things they didn’t like a few weeks later… and that they might like it then.

That made sense when i thought about it…. and it did work with Abby. She is eating sauces, which Anabel still usually doesn’t like. Haaa well at least i learned right? >_< lol

The only reason that makeshift fence is up there is because since we are taking down the steps on that side of the house, the insurance said we had to put something up there because it was a safety hazard. Bob had just thrown that up there… our railing will look nothing like that!

Also my front porch outdoor cushions were delivered today. Made me so excited!

Ok i fixed the dress i got for my anniversary. Now it fits me perfect. I had the shorten the straps, take it in under each armpit and then move the front straps over about 1/2 each. Glad that it wasn’t that hard to do. Now it’s finished and one less thing for me to think about.

We canceled our credit card today. We had it through Bank of America and a couple of months ago they changed their rates… upped our over drafted penalty payment from 3% to 29% O_O CRAZY and then also they started charging us to have the credit card a ridiculous amount. We almost always pay in full and we have only been late once (my fault, i forgot to pay it) in the almost 4 years we’ve had. Made us very mad.

So we got it canceled today and we will be looking for a credit card that has benefits. Like i saw one through Dillon's that will take off 5 cents a gallon if you use it there… which we always get gas at Dillon’s, so that would be a big savings.

But we need to check out more options before we decide.

Sunday Night Fun

I just realized i forgot to tell everyone about the lovely time we had last Sunday at our Pastor’s house. We had to skip church because Bob was still out roofing… and i didn’t feel i could go by myself with the two girls who both hog our attention when we are at church. I by myself would have had a hard time keeping them behaved in service >_<

But that afternoon our Pastor text us and asked us to come hang out and have dinner with them that evening along with some others from church. So we did. It was bunches of fun!

Pastor grilled some awesome chicken and after dinner we all sat in their backyard while the homemade ice cream was being made and we let the kids run and play to their hearts content. It was very nice! But then again it always is when we hang out with them.

Progress Today

This morning i started working on my dress. I raised the straps to were it looks right on me and then i started on getting the top band a tad tighter, because it was to loose and looked odd. Then when i tried the dress on after shortening the straps, it looked like the front straps needed to be moved more in, in the front…. it was to far over so now i will have to change that part. After i do all this i wonder if i will even want to mess with shortening the dress… although it would look so much better!

Then when Bob got back from working out with the football players he started on getting the wood we need to redo the front porch. He decided to start on the front porch first since he thought that would go together pretty fast. I helped him because there was a ton of really long boards that needed ripped. We got 3/4 of the wood cut. Then he started drilling the holes need for us to put up the new columns. His drill was taking a lot of time to drill the holes and the neighbor saw what he was doing and brought over his drill. It was a hammer drill or something like that…. work TONS better! Thanks to awesome neighbors ha? Bob only had enough time to get 2 of the 6 holes drilled today before he had to leave to football again but the neighbor said we could always barrow it again. How nice!

We got a TON done today and I'm getting so giddy and thrilled! I see it all in my head and it’s going to look killer yo!

I’m going to have to start taking pictures so we can have before and afters!

Today i got my dress for my Anniversary:

I haven’t tried it on yet because I've been out working and i want to take a shower first but it looks like it will fit. I might shorten the straps up a little bit, we will see. But i am totally thinking of shortening the dress to knee length because i think it would look way better that way.

I also got my other outdoor cushion forms that i will turn into the table chair pads. So exciting! Love getting things in the mail!

Also got an email that said at least half of my order from Target, which was the outdoor cushions for the front yard, has been shipped today. EXCITING!!!!!!

Well we picked up Bob’s chop saw yesterday:

And today Bob made a table for it and got it all bolted on and set up. I helped him by the way.

Then i got the wicker loveseat out and used a bristle brush on it to get all the loose paint off. Then i hosed it down real good and left it in the sun to dry. By tomorrow it should be good and dry and maybe i will get it painted. I can’t wait to get it done and get it on the front porch for some lounging in the evenings. But boy you can tell I'm not good in the heat because when i was done and came in, everything was weird colors for awhile. LOL

But then Bob rented a concrete saw and cut the patio where he wanted it, so we can install the fence on the garage side along with the gate and arbor.

So that’s another big thing checked off of our list WOOT WOOT!!!

Roofing

So Bob found out that the woodshop teacher does roofing. To make a potentially long story short, he hired him and his crew of high schoolers to roof our house and garage.

They started Friday at 7am… they have been working a good 12 hours every day. The finished up the house yesterday and they came back this morning to do the garage. Bob has been going out before the roofers get here at about 6:30am and working till after dark. Last night he didn’t come in till after 9pm.

He is such a hard worker! I’m proud of him! But i will be excited once all of this is done. I have a feeling we will be spending our memorial day just relaxing. I told him he needed to rest and he said that he had to get the back yard projects done too… i scolded him and said i was going to make him take at least a couple days of rest, the yard can wait that long… come on! :)

Favorite Things

I haven’t done my ‘Friday Favorites’ in forever… and i know it’s not Friday but i’m in a very thankful mood…. so there :P

Some of my favorite things are:

Having a baby-proofed house.

I don’t know how i would stay sane without a baby-proofed house. I can block pretty much any area i feel like and just leave the girls go at there hearts content and not have to really worry. Boy does that help me get things done around the house, plus i think it makes the girls happier as well.

Watching my girls play.

I love to peek in on them when they are somewhere playing and just see what they have decided to do. I love to see that look in their eyes, their little brain working and figuring things out. So cute!

Man the weather has been awesome in my opinion. Overcast and cool. We went to the zoo today with the neighbor and i thought it was so perfect out!

I was skeptical but tried it , loved it! I’ve never had nail polish hold up. Like literally i would paint my nails and the one minute later they would be all messed up! Made me soooo mad.
But this worked great! Now i want to get some of every color!

I got some of these like a month ago. They work great! I hate how regular pony-tail holders slip in your hair, these will not! And i personally don’t think it breaks your hair anymore then the regular ones too. I’m very careful when i take them out though, you basically have to because you can’t pull them out like the regular ones because it’s ‘no slip’ duh :P hehe

I bought this a couple of days ago. Always looking for a good lotion that it’s to expensive. I got this hoping it would be good enough for me and i think it’s great. Keep my legs after shaving very smooth and soft, love it! Another items i will continue to buy!

We’ve had this for awhile now, my father in-law bought it for us. I really do like this a lot. I didn’t at first because i thought the water tasted bad, but i found out you just have to run it through a few cycles and then the water taste good. It has been a super blessing because there is rust in our water in this house. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Also if anyone is doing any kind of projects or need cheap furniture they should check and see if they have a ‘Habitat For Humanity Restore’. They have good cheap items and the money goes to a good cause. Ours has good furniture, cabinets, cabinet fronts, sinks, doors, windows, screens, tons of kinds of hardware, tiles, light fixtures, wood, drawers…. and the list goes one. So worth checking out!

We were even able to get a bunch of roofing nails there. You never know what they will have!

No! Spoon Broken!!!

I’m in here cleaning up the kitchen and to make the girls happy i handed out some of the big plastic spoons. Well i handed Anabel a pasta spoon.

She starts crying and goes ‘No Mommy! Spoon broken! Spoon broken!’ LOL I cracked up at that one!…. i had to give her a spoon without holes to make her happy and she put the pasta spoon back up on the counter saying ‘No’

*Shakes head* That goofy girl! And here i thought it would really interest her because it’s so different hehehe…. may bad!

To The Zoo

This morning my neighbor knocked on my door. Anabel had just woken up and we were sitting on the couch watching cartoons together and Abby was still asleep. She asked if we wanted to go into town with her and get out of the house.

So i hurried up and got ready and went with her. We stopped at Target so she could pick up a few things and then we headed to the zoo. Remind me never to go to the zoo without my double stroller again LOL It was tiring but lots of fun. I think Anabel really enjoyed it.

You could tell that we don’t let Anabel down much in public to walk because she loved run away from me in the zoo… tired me out major! I need to work on that with her i guess aye? LOL

We ate at the zoo which was pretty expensive but i had forgotten to bring anything.

Then we headed home. It was only a few minutes before all three kids were sleeping

When we got home i was able to keep the kiddos asleep for a while longer. Made myself some peanut butter and chocolate, sat down and watched some Last Exile with a snack and a glass of milk. It was a nice.

Overall so far it’s been a very nice day! Needed after the rough one i had yesterday! Thank you! :)

We have several places for flowers.

1.

Right now the side of the house has two pink rose bushes and i would love to add some more flowers to join them.

Along with garlic because they say garlic grows best with roses. I’m thinking it would be nice to add a trellis to the side of the house and plant those climbing roses.

I think the light yellow/peach color would also go great with the color of the house and just be an awesome way to display them.

Another area for flowers will be by the fence that will have the gate and arbor to enter the backyard.

3.

We plan is to planting some flower trees along the one fence and i was thinking it would be fun to plant some low flowers under the trees as well.

Since I'm going with a blue, yellow and orange theme color in the back yard remember?

I was looking for plants that would go along with that.

Now the front lawn could use some plants too, but they would have to be shade flowers and you don’t have as many options there. The front porch is done in black and green remember?

these are 3’x3’ bushes. So I'm thinking they could be planted on either side of the steps to the porch, maybe even more

I was thinking of planting these is some nice pots and put amongst the front porch area. We already have some bushes growing along the fence.

The are low under plants that i like, but i don’t want it to get to dark you know. So i might have to use more of the pink flowers.

These i was thinking would be cool to plant in a pot on an side table on the porch.

Lots of stuff going on. We still need to sit down and totally figure out a a plan and design and how we want to plant all of these and were they will go…. an such. But i like all these flowers. And i don’t want to go to crazy with all of these cause well… I'm worried cause i do not have a green thumb. I think getting the roses on the side of the house to grow inspired me LOL

And like i said this will be way after we get the yard finished, maybe even next year because most need to be planted in the spring. But i LOVE to PLAN >_<

Bob happened to be telling his class roof about all the things we are doing at the house this summer the other day. One boy said he would be willing to help if we paid him, then he told Bob about Mr. Brown who is the workshop teacher there at the school. He said that Mr. Brown roofs houses and that this boy has helped him roof on a few jobs. So Bob went and talked with him.

Again today Bob talked to him about roofing on Friday. The guy said he is going to try to get ahold of the guys that usually help him roof and see if Friday would be ok. At 1:30 is his suppose to tell Bob the final price on what he would charge us. From what he told Bob earlier on pricing if we hired him it would still be way cheaper then getting a roofing company to do it.

So once again it seems like God is leading us to the right people. Isn’t he good? :)

Supplies

Ok so the shingles and wood are being delivered Thursday evening. They will have a cool thing on their truck that will transport the shingles onto the roof. Thank goodness for that because i couldn’t imagine Bob bringing all those up on his shoulder up a ladder. I was so nervous about that because Bob’s back is already messed up, i was worried he would mess it up even more!

Then the dumpster gets delivered Friday morning and Bob plans to start roofing then. It was another awesome thing that dumpster. The city just happened to be having a ‘dumpster deal’ in all of May. So we got the dumpster for incredibly cheap.

Getting a dumpster was one of our major concerns because we have so much stuff that we are going to have to dispose of, not only all the roof stuff but the concrete we are tacking up and the tree stump. We weren’t sure we would be able to afford a dumpster until we heard about the dumpster deal from our Pastor. If we would have waited a few days more, that sale wouldn’t have been on. I just count it as the Lord making a way for us.

It’s been awesome. I just think that it’s all God’s doing, getting us major deals on so many things! How else could we have so much ‘luck’ if it wasn’t him that was showing us and guiding us to the right places?

That’s why i feel confident that he will help us get the roof finished before the next stretch of rain comes and that he will protect the roof during that rain we have been having.

You know when most things happen in my life i always think it’s God’s hand. Mostly the good but in also the things that aren’t ideal.

Like last Thursday when i went up for my dentist appointment. Dad always drives me up there so he can watch Abby while I'm in my appointment. Well on the way up there it was raining really hard and the wipers on our van went out. I think it was God letting it happen while Dad was there with me. Because i would have been stuck on the side of the road. I wouldn’t have had the guts to drive on the shoulder of very busy highway and get off and find a auto shop. I would have been nervous to the bone and probably would have sat there until the rain stopped. So i believe God knew what was best for me and knew it would be best that it happened then instead of on my way home and me be stuck somewhere. God is so good!

My trust in him is growing, but it’s hard because I'm still human. But he has been there for me in…. well everything i can think of!

Ok two days ago Anabel did her first ‘pretending’ with our help. She was playing with an empty wipe container, brought it to Daddy and asked him to open it. Once Dad did she stuck her hand in it and look disappointed because it was empty. She had set her stuffed cow out on the floor and pointed and said ‘Uh oh, cow wet!’ We handed her the empty wipe container and said to get a wipe and change the cows diaper, and to get a wipe and clean the cows butt. LOL She looked at us oddly and giggled but finally she acted like she took a wipe and then began to clean the cows butt then said ‘All clean’ (switch is what i say when I'm done changing her diaper). We praised her and gave her high five, which she thought was awesome… and then she continued to keep changing the cows diaper over and over again and telling us what she was doing. It was so cute!

Plans Unfolding

Saturday we did TONS of shopping and today i also did some more ordering. Our plans are starting to become reality. For several days before hand i did all kinds of searching and pricing of products online to get the best deal i could. We ended up going to Menards to order all out wood for all our projects. We had it all delivered. Also while in the middle of ordering our wood i noticed their shingle prices. Their prices were the cheapest i had seen. So we decided to order those and add them to our delivery as well. We then shopped for all the other little (and some big) things we will need to do all our projects. We haven’t bought everything yet but we have got 95% of it i would say.

We even stopped at Target to pick up some outdoor cushions that i found online. They didn’t have the cushions that i wanted at the store (had to order them) but we did find their outdoor carpets on sale. Instead of buying one carpet for the front porch, we got two for the price i had for one at Wal-Mart.

Back Yard:

At Target i picked up some yellow placemats and also this tablecloth:

My plan is to use this outdoor tablecloth and use the material for our patio table chair cushions (backyard). So i bought some outdoor cushion foam:

At the Habitat For Humanity Store we bought 4 chairs at $2 each. They will be sanded down, the padded seat taken off, Bob will re-cut a wooden seat to place on all of them and they will be painted. I’m thinking of painting a couple the light blue and a couple the light yellow… but i haven’t decided.

I also ordered the outdoor foam for the the loveseat Bob is going to build. A 4in think forms to make the bottom of the loveseat and a 2in form for the back of the loveseat :

I also ordered the outdoor fabric that will cover the forms (backyard). The seat part of the cushion will be in this material:

Since i have 4 accent pillow forms, i might use some of the blue material (above) if i have some left over but i also bought this fabric for at least two of the pillows (backyard):

		Yellow of course will be the main color, then blue with a pop of orange. I think it should look great!

I ordered the 20 foot shade sail yesterday too.

Also Bob got some new toys, things he will need to do all the yard work.

A 12’ Hitachi Miter Saw and he got an angle grinder. We got this for a $100 off it’s original price and about $30 cheaper for the angle grinder. An amazing deal!

And we got the spray paint i need for the wicker furniture. I will be working on painting those soon!

We will have to pick up at the store. All the other cushions had free shipping and even though these green pillows are from the same store, for some reason they didn’t have free shipping. So to save about $10 we are just going to pick them up at the store.

We got the materials for all the front porch columns and railing, even the railing that will go down the front steps.

We spent a lot but we saved a ton too by shopping smart. The shingles we saved about $500, wood about $100, $100 on the saw, $36 on angle iron, and $20 on outdoor carpets.

Other things i know we got a major deal on but can’t say for sure how much. Like at the Habitat Store we got coils of roofing nails for $1 a coil and online the cheapest one i could find was $7… we got 52 of them so that is potentially about $300 saving on that.

Also there we got chairs for $2 where anywhere else you would pay more for them.

At the same store we got a sweet light fixture for the front porch for $8 and the cheapest you would find out that nice would be about $25 or more!

So i think it would be safe to say we saved over a $1,000 dollars. That i say, is SWEET!

Took me tons of time in price matching and figures and searching but it was worth it all!

Dinner Last Night

I wanted to spice up boring frozen ravioli’s and i found this recipe to try. We liked it a lot. Thought i would share! I didn’t have breadcrumbs or i toasted some bread, crumbled it and added my homemade Italian seasoning to it, simple! Oh and i didn’t add the pecans because i thought that sounded bad! LOL

OH SO GOOD OVEN-FRIED RAVIOLI

1 pkg. (13 oz.) frozen square cheese ravioli
3/4 cup reduced-fat sour cream
1/4 cup 2% milk
1 cup Italian-style panko breadcrumbs
1/2 cup ground pecans
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup marinara pasta sauce
3 tbsp. light cream or half and half
1 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley

Cook ravioli as directed on package. Drain and pat dry. Preheat oven to 400°F. Coat baking sheet with cooking spray.

In bowl, combine sour cream and milk. In another bowl, combine breadcrumbs, pecans and Parmesan cheese. Coat ravioli, one at a time, in sour cream mix, shake off excess. Coat with breadcrumb mix.

Arrange 1" apart on baking sheet. Generously coat with cooking spray.

Bake until golden, about 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, in pot, combine marinara sauce and light cream, cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until heated through, 5-7 minutes.

Transfer ravioli to platter, sprinkle with parsley, serve with sauce.

Yummy!

Post Wide Sale

So we went up to my brother and sisters yesterday to hang out (had tons of fun, like usual), spend the night and got up early to go to the Fort Riley post wide garage sales.

We got up at 4:30am and was in the car by 5:30am. Got some awesome deals!

Some of the things we got were:

A gas grill. Four burners and one side burner. We are so excited about it. We tested it before we bought it of course, it all seemed to work great. The cheapest i could find new of the same brand and size was $180, this one was listed at the garage sale at $100 but Bob talked her down to $75. So happy!
A DVD player for $3 (switch we put in the play room so Anabel can watch her Veggie Tales in there now.)

Some gardening tools
Glass canisters. Which in one i put my coco and the other i put my baking soda. I love having glass canisters for everything! Love it love it!
Some sweet dress shoes for myself

Bob plans on making a shelf just for these baskets so they will fit better, but that will be after out many outdoor projects for sure!

I got a stamping set of the complete alphabet and numbers along with a circle punch that will help me tremendously on my party projects. Bob got a couple dollars knocked off of these for me. But the lady had several other die cuts that i would have loved. Bob said later i should have went up to her and said i would buy all of them for $20 and saw what she said… but i am a chicken when it comes to that stuff… guess it was my loss :( But i am very pleased with what i did get!
Bob found the whole complete set of the Seinfeld show (he’s been wanting that for forever)

All in all it was a great trip. The grill was worth it all! YAY! And we didn’t hit even a forth of the sale that were out there probably. I think my sis said there was like 134 garage sale… CRAZY!

And best of all I had a great time with my sister, hubby and the kids!

Little Joys

What i adore about my Doodle at this stage.

I adore everything! LOL But some of the tops are:

When she catches site of me she saids ‘Mum’ as if saying ‘Hi!’
Her staring at me and having a whole conversation is that adorable baby gibber.
Doodle leaning forward and giving me big kisses on my cheek.
Knowing when she is in a good mood by her giggling at anything i say.
Her dancing…. taking after her sister who takes it after for mummy.

What i adore about Bell lately:

Her telling me ‘Thank you Mommy’ for every little thing i do for her.

She loves to bring sister her binky and she loves to help me find her binky when it’s missing.
She loves to wipe things off, it makes her so happy to help me clean.

Mother’s Day 2011

Yesterday was a great day! Even though there was some physical pains for both me and Bob and sometimes some cranky kids, we were determined to have a wonderful day!

For breakfast Bob made us French toast and bacon which tasted awesome! Anabel adored it! Then right after breakfast he presented me with a card. The card made me cry like all his cards do but inside this one was a piece of paper telling me he had ordered a Bialetti stove top espresso maker with milk frother!

I’m so excited! I can’t wait! He always gets just what i want ^_^

Then from breakfast i was able to go get a shower and after that we watched a sci-fi movie ‘Skyline’. It was an interesting movie but now super good, but it was nice just to sit and relax. Neither of us where feeling very good so we wanted to take it easy.

After our lunch which was salads and Anabel was put up to nap, we went into the back yard. Bob pulled up the wicker loveseat, we haven’t redone it yet like we plan but he wanted me to have something comfy to sit on. I sat in the shade while Bob dug up out winter berry bush and replanted it in the pot i had bought at a garage sale. Then i got the clippers out and and trimmed up our rose bushes, they look so much better now!

When we came back inside we got some snacks and sat down to watch some ‘Damages’ on netflixs.

Later in the evening while Bob was grilling the food for dinner i took that time to transfer seasonings from their plastic jars to the glass ones i bought at the estate sale the day before. My seasoning cabinet looks soooo much better now!

Wish i had enough to get rid of all the plastic bottles but I'm pleased to have gotten those glass one yesterday :)

Then we had awesome dinner of grilled steak, corn on the cob and loaded baked potatoes! We then decided to go to bed early because we were dead tired! LOL

But it was a really good day!

Thank you Bob for an awesome day! I am so blessed to you have as my husband and partner! I love you!

Estate Sale Shopping

I’m very pleased with my last stop and shop that i did. I had went to an estate sale yesterday and only walked out with some pruning shears for the back yard. They had some stuff i wanted but i wasn’t going to pay those prices. Well as i was checking out the man told me that the next day (today) they were going to have a bag sale after 2pm, everything in a bag for $3.

So i went back. The things I really wanted were no longer there but i did pick up some things that i am tickled with:

All of these things for $5, a $38.50 dollar price tag originally.

Spice rack, syrup container, glass pitcher, 2 candles, a C clap, cutting board and a table runner.

A doily, a silver platter, another table runner, white glass bowl and a 6 glass coaster set.

This coaster set alone cost what i paid for the whole bunch originally. A sweet deal.

I am most pleased about the coaster set and that green and yellow flowered table runner. The runner is the perfect colors for my dinning room :)

I say happy mother’s day to myself, LOL

Estate sales are my new friend!

That’s not counting the couple other things i got at garage sales today.

I picked up a box of 13 wood 8x11 picture frames for $.50 the whole box (a steal!). Now all they need is a hit of black spray paint and they will look good as new :D

And i picked up a pair of new pants for me for $.20. Oh and i almost forget about the big flower pot i got too for $.20. It will be used for our winter berry bush that is in our back yard.

That was my shopping spree today :) I adore getting deals… i think I'm hooked ^_^

Laid Out Yard Plans

This is so far what we have thought up and would like… now it’s left to having the money and getting it done, LOL. We are dreaming BIG, we might not have enough resources for this, but we will try.

Garden Area:

That is 3 raised garden beds, with homemade concrete pavers around it. Right corn, that barrel, is a homemade compost area. The other thing you see is a planters work bench. Pavers would be probably in the future cause we most likely wouldn’t have the moola for that but they hopefully would be done by this concrete mold

Cooking & Eating Are:

Table and chairs. That brown rim around the AC unit and garbage is actually a tall 6 foot fence to hide the AC and garbage.

So yesterday we also went out after Bob got home and did tons of yard work.

Abby was in her walker, then we put Anabel in fence thingy (it kind a looks like a dog corral or something but it really is for kids) cause we don’t have a fence yet. We put the dog in with Anabel for some company, she loved that. The kids were good for a long time!

We finished up getting all the rocks out and ripping up the tarp paper that was in the pond area. Then i started working on tearing down all the vines on the back fence. Bob started helping me and we got all the vines down from our side of the fence. Bob already talked to the neighbors and they said it was ok for us to go over there and tear down the vines on their side too so they won’t grow back. I never new this until now but vine will destroy your fence… it was crazy how the vines will literally attach themselves to the fence…. so weird!

Anyways we got that done and i wracked all of the debris into the pond whole. We measured the entire yard so now we can correctly figure out how much wood we need for the fence, haw much sod we would need and how much stain we will need for the concrete. Exciting times! We had done a rough estimate of what we would need in wood yesterday and we will need so much that Bob thinks it would be best to get it delivered… i think i agree. Fun times!

Now i believe Bob said the next step is the pound out the one section of the patio we are taking out. After that we rent a skid loader to rip out the front side steps, the concrete slab in the back of the garage, level the pond, pull out the tree stump… and possibly dig up all the grass so we can then lay sod (that’s if we have enough money… i’m crossing my fingers!)

Well then by the time i laid down to sleep my arms where killing me from about the elbow down to my hands. I tried to keep them laying straight on the bed all night… they just hurt so bad! They are still bothering me but just not as bad.

Then also last night Abby woke me up a couple me times then the last few days. I felt really bad because she didn’t want to go to sleep in the first place, she was wired and acting so happy… but it was late and a challenge getting her down.

Then at about 5am the dog started barking cause she wanted outside. I got up and took her out to come back in to Bob standing there holding Abby, saying she was crying and soaked. So we tag teamed and changed her cloths and diaper and i nursed her back to sleep.

An overall very tiring night on top of already being tire from all the work done. But oh well, it’s exciting to get the work done!

Roof Info.

Yesterday was busy. Since the high winds (a think a week ago) where a section of shingles got blown off, we had a few roofers come out and give estimates that the insurance people asked for.

The roofers have only been estimating what it would cost to patch in the area. The roofer that came over yesterday said that they work he would do would cost about $1250 and suggested that we not go through the insurance to get it paid. He said that usually we homeowner has to pay at least $1000 (not sure what our insurance asks) and that it wouldn’t be worth it cause after we have a claim on our record they usually up the yearly insurance payment the next year.

Well after that a man from out insurance adjuster came out the asses the damage. He said we have a lot of hail damage as well and he is going to try and get the insurance to accept for our whole roof and garage to be reroofed. If that is the case then paying $1000 and them paying the rest would totally be worth it.

If not and they just want it patched, then Bob is thinking of just doing it himself so it won’t cost us that much.

We will see, it’s in God hands. We are both praying!

Front Porch Idea’s

Our plans for the front porch are for Bob to build columns and railing around it. Last night i had the bright idea to also stain the concrete of the porch.

Maybe something lighter like this? I’m not 100% yet.

We bought a wicker loveseat and chair at an estate sale. We plan to repaint it… Bob was thinking a pale light green, so that is what i went with.

Night work

Last night after dinner and after Anabel was already up to sleep, i saw that it was still light outside. Me and Bob decided to go outside and get some yard work done.

We talked and planned out where we would like the furniture to go and how we want things done. Then we started getting some more stones out from the old pond area. Bob got two small trees that were starting to grow along the fence out. We have almost all the pond area picked up. Soon we will be ready for the skid loader.

Here’s some of our idea’s. Earlier in the day i had spent time looking up furniture and things i would like.

First we want to stain our existing concrete

I like something like this, but i haven’t shown Bob yet so i don’t know if this is what we will pick or not.

We are fencing in the whole yard, and building a privacy fence type thing around out AC so you won’t see it…. that structure will also have an area for our garbage can so it will be out of eye sight as well.

Also we are hoping to get new sod laid, but I'm not sure how much that will cost because i can’t even find any sort of prices online… grrr… i wanted to try and make an estimate to see if we could even possibly afford it but to no avail!

Along the north fence we want to plant some small flowering trees. First ones we saw and liked, i believe they were called ‘Hydrangea’ but i could be wrong.

Some of our furniture ideas are:

The table i want to build. I have the building plans.

I want Bob to build this for one side of the table, for seating. As far as other seating I'm thinking that i might be able to find chairs around at garage sales and stuff. They don’t really have to match because when we redo them and paint them all the same color it will give a nice eclectic feeling (something I've learned to like from all my craft blogs), which i think will be fun!

Then in our lounging/conversation area i want Bob to build some of these, or we buy some… but we are trying to build what we can to keep the cost down. I’m thinking i want two of these and one made into a loveseat.

Bob wants this for the seating area.

Over part of the yard we plan on installing a 16.5 X 16.5 X 16.5 foot sail for shade. Surprising how cheap these things are. Since Bob took out the one shade tree in our yard because it was dead, we will greatly need some shade!

This is going to become my inspiration for the pattern and color theme for the back yard. I had wanted to buy it but Bob hated the design of the umbrella but he said the patterns and colors were good, so YAY!

I will use this to base the table runner, place mats, cushions, that sort of thing, off of. Nice and bright.

And then we talked about a bar/cooking area…. i say bar because we want some bar like stools, but it would really just be a cooking area. Our idea is to build a counter area… Bob would make custom concrete countertops for it… we would possibly get a new grill that would slide into the counter area to make it look apart of it. We would have like two bar stools are the counter. Of course this is just if we have enough money, we want everything else more so we shall see.

Amazing sleep

I can’t believe it! Last night Abby didn’t wake me up even once! I woke up myself at 3am cause i needed to use the restroom…. i figured instead of getting up shortly after going that to bed (because it seems to always work that way) i would go ahead and beat Abby to it and feed her. Usually she has at least awoken me up once before 3am. She so was all snuggled in her bed, snoring. I fed her and went back to sleep and she didn’t wake up since. She is still asleep in her bed right now, still snoring. YAY It’s sooooo awesome! Thank God! I so needed it!

Anabel woke up at 6:45a but that is a usual this last month, good thing i normally am awake by 6:30a.

Something that entertains Anabel for awhile is if i give her a wipe and tell her to go clean. She loves wiping things down like the coffee table and Abby’s walker. It’s so cute!

Boredom for me equals random thoughts, sugar and staring blankly at the computer screen. At least that is what it means today… that and wasting time re-watching movies. I have no energy or ambition today! So completely out of it. I wish i at least could waste my time writing on the many stories I've started. That at least would be slightly productive… ok maybe not… it’s not like anyone else but myself are really going to read my stories anyways. If only i could get my brain from being stuck on neutral! Man the things i could do!

This feels like a book reading state of being… but i would have to have a good book to read that held my attention. None of which i have.

Hubby will be gone till evening sometime… man how i miss him already. If he was here…. then at least i could be boring with someone and veg out together… or maybe he would motivate me to do something!

Let’s see if i can motivate myself…. what is there that i could do?

Last Night

A Bad Night!

At about 1am we bolted out of bed because our dog Maddie was making horrible sounds. We found her at the foot of our bed, stiff as a board convulsing with blood all over the floor next to her mouth. Bob sat and rubbed her and comforted her through the what i believe was a seizure. The blood seemed to be from her chewing her tongue. It was horrible!

After the seizure was over we found that she had peed herself. We decided that i should give her a bath since we didn’t want peed and blood getting all over the house. After bathing her she acted like she had so much energy and ran around (driving Bob crazy).

Shortly after all of that Abby woke up and would cry anytime i tried to lay her down so i spent another night sleeping out on the couch holding her. I had to do the same thing the night before.

Abby’s fever felt pretty bad so i woke her up for some medicine and got a cold rag to keep on her head. I had hoped the fever wouldn’t be so bad last night since it felt like it was almost gone last night and she was up playing and having a good ol’time. Poor girl and dang teething!

So needless to say i hardly got any sleep last night and i was at 6:40am as well. This morning i have to get things ready to go down to the in-laws so i can go to my dentist appointment tomorrow. Oh how i wish i didn’t have too! I’m worried about leaving Maddie. We have never left her that long before. She will have to stay in there all day until Bob gets home from work. I know she use to with the old owners but i wish she didn’t have to!

Say a prayer for our dog please? And Abby? If she has another seizure i think it would just be kindest to put her to sleep don’t you think? I don’t want her to live in pain…. makes me so sad! I cried last night watching her go through that.

When are friends moved away they gave us their carpet cleaner, then the in-laws gave us a couple carpets. Well the carpets have been down in our basement waiting to get cleaned for months! I finally did it. Make me feel good. I figured out the carpet cleaner and all…. very simple. I can’t wait to get the carpets up here now!

A weird dream.

Last night in my dreams…..

Something had happened, no one quite knew what it was. In the night anything electronic stopped working, the electricity was down and most cars beside the old ones wouldn’t work. Everyone was declaring it had to be an EMP blast, it was the most logical answer.

People were acting like the world had ended. Many were breaking into homes and stores of any kind to gather things they thought they would need or things they thought would bring money. It had seemed like the normal rules people functioned by had been thrown out the door.

Word got passed around that everyone should head to a city about 120 miles away. Things got spread to quickly that no one knew who came up with this idea or for what reason. Maybe it was because everyone needed something to work towards to keep them busy but they all said that it was because they thought someone there might know what was going on. Everyone moved around as though there was impending danger behind them. As though something or someone was in our path to destroy our home, our town, even the entire would.

We decided to follow the masses general idea and travel to this city. We figured at the rate people were stealing that there would be nothing left if we did stay.

Our whole family was gathered together. I remember my sister crying, mostly because of the feeling of impending danger and that lost feeling you get when everything around you has changed so dramatically but she said “I can’t believe it takes the world falling apart to get the entire family together again!”. If our minds hadn’t be on our survival we might have realized how sadly true that statement was.

We found ourselves stopping at a convenience store. I guess you could say that the store had really became convenient since everyone was grabbing what they wanted and no one thought twice about paying. It had become a free for all. We were there, needing such stuff as water and toilet paper but we were afraid to just take what we needed, that would be stealing and we didn’t want our actions to become sinful. What else could we do then? We decided to take what we needed and leave some money on the counter, knowing that the likelihood of the next person just taking the money was very high, but that would become their own problem, not ours.

My foot had been bothering me for some time since the ‘event’ happened. I took off my shoe and saw that half of my foot had dried up and the skin was hard. I touched it and skin cracked, causing puss to oozing out. My stomach felt like i was going to throw up. Good thing was that my foot didn’t really hurt but this was an obvious problem. I didn’t want to worry my family about it so i stayed quite and looked for something to clean and bandage it. Hopefully that would do the trick. But I was very worried about it and it stayed nagging in the back of my mind.

A man approached us and pulled out a huge roll of cash. He said he wanted to buy our supplies off of us. We declined and he hinted that he needed our stuff one way or another and that he would see us again on I-75. I-75 was the highway that everyone was taking to get to the city. He left with a look of determination on his face that would send chills down anyone's back.

I turned to my family and asked if we were going to be traveling down the highway with everyone? We pulled out a map and searched for a new rout to take. My brother in-law pointed to the railway station and said that was were we should go. For a minute everyone thought he was insane until he explain. “Have you forgotten what happen?” He gave me a glare and explained that they have a very very old train there, one that powers on coal. That we could take that train and get there before everyone else. We all turned to looked at one another in silence. It wouldn’t hurt to at least try his idea out.

After a few hours we were on our way traveling down the railway. Life had become about survival. It was so bad that we couldn’t trust anyone but those in our family. Off in the distance, a mile or so away, we saw the mass of people trekking down the highway. As soon as they caught sight of the train they began to run towards it, waving there hands and yelling. I stood at the window, tears running down my face. I felt like such a terrible person. My family began to reassure one another that they had to do what they were doing. While i understood what they were saying I couldn’t help but think that we were doing a terrible thing. My brother said “They are going to get there one way or another, we are just getting there faster…. The safety of our children is the most important thing right now.” … ‘Yes but what about their children?’ I thought.

Soon the multitude was far behind us. I stayed at the window, holding my little girl. The clouds looked so depressing, as if they knew what was going on and were sad for us. They matched the feeling i had inside, dark and heavy. We would be to city soon, then what would be the plan?

We talked amongst ourselves and decided on a few options but soon our plans became useless. When we got there we found the town empty, stores didn’t looked touched as ours had been back home. What had happened here? We decided to set up camp. We would find the best house to set up base in, something that would be the best option to keep us safe from any intruders. We would stock up our supplies and even guns for protection. Then we would wait for the others to come and braise ourselves.

Of course i added some details to make this more of a story but this is basically the dream i had. You ever wake up from a dream that obviously wasn’t finished and you have this feeling like you know the just of what was going to happen next? (maybe it’s just me, lol)

Anyways i felt like the infection of my foot had something to do with the ‘event’ and that it was going to play a big part in the story. How it was going to play a part I'm not sure… was it highly contagious and going to spread to others? Was it going to turn me into some sort of monster? The possibilities are endless. Either way i knew that it was something dreadful.

Also i had this feeling that Aliens would come into play in the dream.

Wow i thought that was creepy, LOL. Looked like a neat alien?

Spring Break

Last night i fed Abby some food before bed, gave her a teething strip and put her to bed across the hall from our room. I set the alarm to every 3 hours, would get up and feed her. She didn’t fuss at all, i was so surprised seeing as she has been waking up every hour for the last week or more. Before that she would wake up every 2 hours, so last night really i had the best sleep i probably have for several months. So i’m hoping this wasn’t a fluke thing and that she can keep it going! *crossing my fingers*

So this morning when Bob got up to get ready for work i went and fed Abby. Well i found that she had pee’d through her cloths she i ended up waking her up cause of the diaper and cloths change. So we ended up staying up with Daddy and helping him get ready for work.

Today is a parent-teacher day so he has to stay until 8pm at night, boo for that! But after today is Spring Break so i can’t complain to much.

Today has been BEAUTIFUL!!!! I have had all the curtains and windows open today, it has been wonderful! Things have gone really good today. I got tons of ironing done, laundry, straightened up the office/playroom. Now that Abby needs to be sleeping out of our bedroom so i can get some sleep we are going to put her crib in the play room. I already put the changing table in there so basically it’s like another kids room instead of an office. But i got it all straighten and that makes me happy!!! I got the kitchen cleaned up and the dinning room. The house is looking good. And it’s nice that i have been able to keep it that way. Still need to get to the bedroom and get that all nice. It will happen soon enough.

I’m just so excited about spring break! It will be so nice to have hubby around! YAY!

To tired

Abby’s little nose has been running like crazy and last night when she fussed for a feeding i noticed that she seemed to be sleeping way better in my arms, she could breath better. So i decided to take her into the living room and sleep in the recliner with her. She hasn’t slept good in at least week, if not longer. Last night i think she slept way better. I didn’t sleep good…. when i’m holding her my sleep is so light and i wake to any little movement from her. So i’m realllllllllllly tired, but oh well. Abby needs to get over this runny nose!

Then when Bob got up to get ready for work i put Abby back in the crib and had breakfast with Bob. Then when he left i laid back down on the couch until Anabel got up and came down stairs.

I’ve just been taking care of the girls and watching some Lost on netflix. I feel so out of it! I’ve decided to start giving Abby for food as well. I had been only giving her baby food once a day and the rest she nursed if she was hungry but i’m getting to that point where i can’t take it anymore, i have to get some sleep or i feel like i’m going to go crazy! >_< So a little more food it is, to see if that helps.

Today is going to be nicer outside so i might try and get out there today… means i need to take a shower and get real cloths on LOL Oh i feel pathetic!

I can tell today is going to be a lazy day!

Last night me and Bob decided to go to bed early because i was going to try and get up with Bob at 6:30am and spend some time with him. Well….. Abby decided to wake up a bazillion times last night. She woke up every hour and sometimes every 15 min. I was still going to try and get up with Bob but he told me to just stay in bed since i had such a bad night.

Abby is crazy! Last night she would be talking at the top on her lungs ‘Dadadadadadadada’ but when i would get up to check on her she would be asleep and doing it. She also would whine and fuss, all asleep. Most of the time she didn’t even want to eat, she just wanted me to hold her. I tried taking her to bed with me but that didn’t last long, nothing i could do would make her happy so she went back to bed. It was such a hard night! It felt like there wasn’t even a need for me to lay back in bed cause she would be waking me in 15min anyways.

So needless to say i only feel like laying around, which is what I'm doing. I’m hoping at nap time i will get a nap too. I really wish i knew what was making Abby wake up so much. I think it could be several things. She has a runny nose so it could be hard to breath plus she is teething…. and i wonder if i need to feed her more food during the day.

I remember with Anabel she was like this and we ended up giving her more food through the day. Plus it took a few night of letting her cry some before she would sleep almost through the whole night. Man I'm about at my breaking point. It’s so hard not to get sleep!

Today has been great!

Bob’s parents had came down Saturday and stayed the night to go to church with us that morning. Me and Bob got up about 7am, took our showers and then started breakfast. We made waffles and bacon. It was good to eat before church because i didn’t have to deal with nausea or a headache, which was awesome!

After church Dad treated us along with the pastor and his family to dinner at a Mexican restaurant. By the time we got home it was nap time for both the girls so after we got them to sleep me and Bob had some alone time, that was really nice. We got a nap which was greatly needed! We didn’t wake up till 4pm and Anabel didn’t get up from her nap till about 5pm >_< So we rushed and got her dinner and everyone ready so we could head out to Life Group at 6pm.

Things just went really smoothly and relaxing, such a good time!
